Street Sweeping and Lane Grading
Spring and Fall Street Cleaning
Street Sweeping and Lane Grading take place in Spring and Fall. Town staff do the Uptowne area, and the primary and collector streets first and then move on to residential areas. Signs are posted on residential streets to be swept the day before sweeping.
As spring arrives, the Town of Olds asks you to remove any rubber or plastic driveway ramps, debris, chains, hitches, or other items from roadway curbs. Crews conduct a town-wide sweep in April (weather dependent) to clear curbs and municipal rights of way of the debris and gravel from winter.
In the fall, to prepare for snow, the Town of Olds asks you to remove any rubber or plastic driveway ramps, debris, chains, hitches, or other items from roadway curbs. Crews also conduct a town-wide sweep in October to clear curbs and municipal rights of way ahead of winter. Items left behind can damage our snow clearing equipment or lead to flooding come spring if they obstruct catch basins, drains, or manholes.

Important Notes
- Sweeping can begin as early as 4:00 AM. Please remove vehicles from the street the night before.
- For maximum efficiency, the sweeper does an area once and moves on to the next area - it does not come back to do spots missed because vehicles weren't moved.
- The Street Sweeping schedule may be interrupted by bad weather, equipment failure, or other operations emergencies. Staff do their best to get to your area as fast as they can! We appreciate your cooperation.
