Utility Rates

The water and wastewater flat rates cover the fixed costs of utility infrastructure. This includes staffing administration, licenses, insurance, equipment, regional partnerships, amortization, and debenture costs.

The solid waste rate is also a flat monthly fee. It covers the collection and disposal of recycling, compost, and waste material under the Town’s responsibility.

The water and wastewater consumption rates are based on actual usage. These rates help cover repairs, utility costs, supplies, capital costs, the cost of purchasing water from the Mountain View Regional Water Services Commission. They also include the cost of transporting and treating wastewater through the South Red Deer Regional Wastewater Commission.
