Town of Olds Protective Services is made up of the following services:

When To Call 911?

Call 911 Immediately If:

  • There is a threat to life, serious injury, or medical emergency
  • You witness a fire, smell smoke or gas, or see a hazardous situation developing
  • There is an active crime in progress or a serious safety concern requiring police
  • Someone is experiencing symptoms of a stroke, heart attack, or other critical medical condition
  • You are unsure but believe the situation could quickly escalate or endanger people

Do NOT Call 911 For:

  • Non-emergency facility or maintenance issues (e.g., broken pipes, power outages without risk)
  • Minor injuries or illnesses that do not require urgent care
  • General inquiries or follow-ups on previous emergency calls
  • Bylaw or noise complaints
  • To report something after the fact (e.g., vandalism discovered later) — use non-emergency police line
