Active Engagements
The Town has several engagements planned for 2026. We want to hear from you! Please sign up for updates to stay informed.
A Community Open House regarding the proposed data centres was held on Wednesday, February 4. A separate developer-led session was held on February 5 and is not affiliated with the Town of Olds
A second Community Open House and Q&A session is tentatively scheduled for mid-March.
The Synapse development permit review is still underway and is taking longer than anticipated as Town staff and third-party engineers complete detailed review work related to utility connections, landscaping plans, and the noise impact assessment.
This next Open House will be focused on the municipal scope and approval process. But we’ll try our best to speak to those areas of provincial jurisdiction; however, the AUC Process is the most appropriate place for questions about natural gas power generation and emissions to be answered.
This will be an opportunity to ask questions, review information, and speak with Town Council and Administration.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Data Centre are also available here: Data Centre Development.
