It’s that time of year again! The Town of Olds is springing into action with our annual Spring Clean-Up Event—and we’re inviting you to be part of it.

Spring is a busy time for the Town with annual communications around the spring budget adjustments, the tax rate bylaw, the annual report, audited financial statements, and our annual financial update report. This newsletter seeks to summarize some of this information and direct you to where it can be found in full.

The Town of Olds has released the O-NET Financial Closure Report, summarizing the history, financial implications, and final sale of OFL LTD. (commonly known as O-NET) to TELUS Communications for $11 million.

Thank you to everyone who completed the 2025 Housing Survey. We heard from renters, homeowners, students, seniors, and families — and the message was clear: housing in Olds is getting harder to find, harder to afford, and often doesn't meet people’s needs.

The Town of Olds is shifting how it manages select green spaces and shrub beds by embracing naturalization—converting low-use or difficult-to-maintain areas into more natural, self-sustaining landscapes. This change reflects a shift toward responsible land use, and long-term cost management while continuing to prioritize safe, attractive public spaces.

Spring in Olds is the perfect time to clean up, give back, and clear out. The Town of Olds is excited to bring back two popular clean-up programs.

The Town of Olds is excited to announce the seasonal opening of the Residential Branch Dump and Grass Clippings Area on May 1, 2025. Located at the Operations Centre on the west end of town, this program provides an easy and environmentally responsible option for residents of Olds to dispose of yard waste, including branches, small trees, shrubs, and leaves.
