  • Proposed Changes to Encourage New Rental Unit Construction

    The Town of Olds is proposing amendments to its Land Use Bylaw aimed at promoting new construction for multi-unit rental apartment buildings. From feedback via the 2023 Housing Needs Assessment survey as well as ongoing dialogue with The Olds College and local businesses, rental housing continues to be a significant need. These proposed changes reflect the Town's commitment to adapt to evolving needs while maintaining the unique character and quality of life in Olds.

    In a move to enhance waste management services while managing costs, the Town of Olds announces the discontinuation of community grass bin services in 2024.  A decision was made to shift current costs to increasing and improving residential green bin services so residents would see a more direct benefit from dollars spent.
