Olds Fashioned Christmas

Since 1993, Olds Fashioned Christmas has been a beloved community tradition, celebrating our culture and offering fantastic recreation throughout November and December. Entirely run by a dedicated team of volunteers, it has blossomed into a huge array of events, craft shows, and family activities. This magical season truly comes to life thanks to the incredible involvement of our volunteers, local businesses, schools, and service groups.

Christmas Tree Decorating Challenge and Registration

Join the high-speed holiday contest where teams battle to create the most stunning Christmas tree in just 30 minutes!

Where and When: Sunday, November 30 at Canadian Tire Olds, 1:00 PM Team Check In

Team Max: $50 Registration fee. Organize a team of up to 6 people.

Timed Event: Each team will be given a set amount of time to view the decorations provided and come up with a game plan for their tree. A timer will then be set for 30 minutes and all competing teams will can use all or as much of the 30 minutes they need to complete their tree decorating. At the end of 30 minutes teams will then add all of their donated gifts and each team's tree will be reviewed by our panel of judges!!!

Be an Angel: You will earn additional points for the number of gifts under your tree donated to the Olds Christmas Angels Society so launch your internal team drive to collect donated gifts that you or your donors will bring for under your tree! All gifts must be on site during the challenge to count!

Team Costumes: Not mandatory but...More bonus points!

What's in it for your team? The winning team will receive: 

• A visit from Santa and Mrs Claus to your business or family Christmas Party (based on availability)
• Team Gift card of $150 to enjoy at one of our amazing local restaurants
• Gingerbread house for each member of the winning team
• Win or lose you get an afternoon of fun and giving back to an amazing organization by spreading some Christmas Cheer for those in need!
