On Friday April 19, 2024, at 10:33 PM the Olds Fire Department was dispatched to reports of heavy smoke in the area of 51 Ave and 51 street.

On March 19, 2024, Olds RCMP received information from the public that a rural property located within Mountain View County was being used as a base of operations to sell drugs and house stolen property and firearms. After an investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the residence.

The Town of Olds is thrilled to announce that the Mountain View Power Community Grant Program is now accepting applications for the spring intake.

The Town of Olds is proposing amendments to its Land Use Bylaw aimed at promoting new construction for multi-unit rental apartment buildings. From feedback via the 2023 Housing Needs Assessment survey as well as ongoing dialogue with The Olds College and local businesses, rental housing continues to be a significant need. These proposed changes reflect the Town's commitment to adapt to evolving needs while maintaining the unique character and quality of life in Olds.

The Town is preparing an Area Structure Plan for the section of land located north of Hwy. 27 and east of Hwy. 2A. 

The Town of Olds is the proud recipient of a grant from the Government of Alberta Electric Vehicles for Municipalities Program (EVM), that has allowed the Town to purchase an electric Ice resurfacer.

The Olds Utilities Department has made progress in repairing the town's infrastructure.
