MVP Community Grants Approaching $402,000 In Local Support Since 2023

The Town of Olds is pleased to announce the Mountain View Power (MVP) Community Grant Evaluation Committee has selected six local organizations to receive a total of $36,993 in funding through the Spring 2026 intake of the MVP Community Grants Program. The Community Grants Program provides financial assistance towards projects, events and activities that enhance and enrich the community. This initiative continues to demonstrate the power of community investment, thanks to the generosity of MVP and its customers.

Since launching in spring 2023, Mountain View Power Community Grants has awarded nearly $402,000 to the community through this application process. This spring, the Committee received seven eligible applications and after careful review, the following organizations were selected for funding:

$18,200 Olds Humane Society – Workspace Renovation

This project will upgrade the Town-owned facility into a safe and efficient animal shelter. The existing windows and doors are no longer functioning effectively, resulting in poor insulation, drafts, and compromised security.

$13,618 Mountain View Emergency Shelter Society – Children and Youth Indoor & Outdoor Recreation Spaces

Mountain View Emergency Shelter Society plans to purchase games, art supplies and toys, while also planting evergreen trees for privacy to create inclusive and accessible recreation spaces for children experiencing domestic violence.

$4,700 Accredited Supports to the Community – Hoyer Lift

This grant will provide a mechanical lift and slings of varying sizes to safely lift and transport both children and adults with disabilities and mobility challenges.

$475 Olds Community Chorus Society – Vocal Skills Workshop

OCCS is scheduling a free 2.5-hour interactive vocal workshop in September for kids 12 and up. The workshop will be led by Dr. Danica Hoffart, respected adjudicator from the Olds & District Kiwanis Music Festival. Funds will provide sheet music for attendees as well as promotional materials.

Next Grant Intake

The next intake for the MVP Community Grant Program will take place in Fall 2026. Local non-profits, clubs, and community groups are encouraged to prepare their applications early and review the eligibility criteria outlined in the Town’s Community Grants Policy.

The Mountain View Power Community Grants Program was created to empower local initiatives that enhance quality of life in Olds. Since its inception, MVP has supported dozens of community-driven projects through its biannual intakes.

Powering the Community
