Municipal Mini: Fire Prevention Week + OFD Open House
Fire Prevention Week 2025
From October 5-11, we’re sharing important safety tips with our community. This year’s theme is:Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.
Lithium-ion batteries power many of the things we use every day—phones, laptops, e-bikes, power tools, and more. While they’re reliable, they also need to be handled with care.
- BUY safely – Always purchase devices and batteries from reputable sources.
- CHARGE safely – Use the charger that came with your device, and never charge under your pillow or on your bed.
- RECYCLE safely – Don’t throw batteries in the trash. Take them to proper recycling locations.
Let’s work together to prevent fires and keep our Alberta communities safe.
