Municipal Mini - Data Centres and Property Taxes

Alberta Municipal Affairs will assess taxation for any future data centres in the Town of Olds.

Council received an overview of how these properties are assessed and how the assessments can impact municipal industrial tax revenue at the May 11 Council Meeting.

While there are a lot of unknowns, it is clear that AI data centres will pay millions of dollars annually in municipal property taxes and support the local and broader economy.
