For Immediate Release

Bring Big Community Ideas to Life with the MVP Community Grant Program

October 3, 2025, Olds, AB– The Town of Olds is calling on local organizations with bold ideas to help make our community stronger, more connected, and more vibrant. Through the Mountain View Power (MVP) Community Grant Program, non-profit and not-for-profit groups can apply for funding to bring projects to life that enrich the lives of Olds residents.

MVP is an energy marketer that supplies natural gas and electricity to homes and businesses in Olds at a competitive rate. Unlike other providers, MVP reinvests profits back into the community, creating a sustainable funding source for projects and programs that make a difference.

“When people choose MVP for their energy needs, they’re not just keeping the lights on at home—they’re helping to advance community growth,” said Guy Lapointe, Director of Services. “This program is a chance for organizations to take their great ideas and turn them into concrete benefits for the people of Olds.”

The MVP Community Grant Program provides financial support to initiatives that strengthen Olds in five key areas: social, cultural, environmental, economic, and governance. Since launching in June 2023, the program has invested more than $290,000 back into the community, supporting over 20 local initiatives.

Previous recipients include the Mountain View Emergency Shelter, BCG Olds, the Olds Curling Club, Mountain View Nordic Ski Club, Ecole Olds High School Leadership, Mountain View Foodbank and Mountain View Hospice to name a few.

Applications for the next round of funding are now open. Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply before 2:00 PM on November 5, 2025.
