The Town of Olds is looking for Casual Lifeguards / Instructors to join the Olds Aquatic Centre team. Reporting to the Aquatic Team Leaders, you will help provide a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming experience for people participating in activities in and around the water.

The Role
As a Casual Lifeguard / Instructor, you will work as a lifeguard and/or instructor at the Olds Aquatic Centre.
Your work will focus on supporting the safety, instruction, protection, and enjoyment of people participating in activities in or around the water. You will also assist with a variety of duties and responsibilities within the Aquatic Centre.
This position provides ongoing opportunities to build your skills through hands-on experience and on-the-job training. While you will work closely with the aquatic team, there will also be situations where you are expected to use independent judgment and take appropriate action.
What Your Work May Include
- Working as a lifeguard and/or instructor at the Olds Aquatic Centre
- Helping maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for facility users
- Providing instruction as assigned
- Supporting the protection and safety of people participating in aquatic activities
- Assisting with a variety of duties and responsibilities within the Aquatic Centre
- Working with Aquatic Team Leaders and other team members
- Continuing to develop your skills through on-the-job training
- Using independent judgment and taking appropriate action when required

What You Bring
You are approachable, resourceful, and comfortable working with members of the public. You contribute positively to a team while also being prepared to make sound decisions independently when the situation requires it.
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Hold a current National Lifeguard certification
- Hold current Intermediate First Aid
- Hold current CPR-C/AED certification
- Provide a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector, with their application
Work Schedule
This is a casual position with a variety of shifts.
Lifeguards may be scheduled for:
- Early mornings, with some shifts beginning at 5:30 a.m.
- Evenings
- Weekends
- Possible split shifts
