Water is a critical resource and must be managed to meet the province’s growing needs. A resilient and efficient water management system is essential for safeguarding the health of Alberta’s communities, environment and economy.  The Government of Alberta launched a public engagement process from fall 2024 through early 2025. The goal is to gather ideas for improving how water is managed and shared across the province.

Thank you to everyone who completed the 2025 Housing Survey. We heard from renters, homeowners, students, seniors, and families — and the message was clear: housing in Olds is getting harder to find, harder to afford, and often doesn't meet people’s needs.

Spring in Olds is the perfect time to clean up, give back, and clear out. The Town of Olds is excited to bring back two popular clean-up programs.

The Town of Olds is committed to providing reliable and efficient water services to our community. As part of this commitment, we are launching a phased Water Meter Replacement Program to upgrade aging infrastructure and adopt advanced metering technology.

Business owners across Central Alberta are invited to participate in a collaborative new initiative designed to foster local business growth and build a vibrant, sustainable business region - BREWD (Business Retention Expansion and Workforce Development). BREWD is being driven by a new coalition of businesses, governments, and service agencies identified as Central Alberta First (CAF). CAF is calling on business owners and entrepreneurs to share their perspectives, voice their concerns, and contribute ideas that will help shape the region’s future.

Join us Thursday, September 19 at 4826 51 Street, Olds from 3:00 PM -7:00 PM for hot dogs and conversation. Your input will help to build a plan to renovate the empty Town of Olds Operations building, 4826 51 Street, to become a vibrant co-located place for socializing, projects, and the arts.

The 2025 budget survey is now underway from the Town of Olds. The survey will be open until July 5 and the feedback received will help Council shape the 2025 budget. This survey allows residents to provide their direct feedback on the budget process by selecting top spending priorities on a wide range of topics affecting our community. Resident feedback, ideas, and suggestions are invaluable as we make decisions about how to allocate resources and prioritize initiatives that will enhance the quality of life for our community.
