Certificate of Compliance

Notice of Delay

Due to technical complications outside of the Town's control, the anticipated turn around time to issue certificates of compliance is approximately 5 business days.

A Certificate of Compliance is a written confirmation by the Town that all building(s) and structures on a property comply with the requirements of the Town of Olds’s Land Use Bylaw. It is often requested during real estate transactions by the purchaser or lending agencies. A Certificate of Compliance is not required by the Town and does not involve enforcement of building code requirements.

Receive a Certificate of Compliance

To obtain a Certificate of Compliance, you must submit a Real Property Report (RPR), prepared and signed by an Alberta Land Surveyor. The RPR must be less than 10 years old and any RPR older than 12 months requires a statutory declaration stating that there have been no changes to the property as shown. A Statutory Declaration can be obtained at the Town of Olds main office.

To obtain a Real Property Report, you may contact a surveying company of your choice.

The fee for a Certificate of Compliance is $100.
