In a generous contribution to the community’s firefighting capabilities, Plains Midstream Canada has donated a 2018 GMC 2500 pickup truck to the Town of Olds Fire Department. This donation boosts the department's ability to respond to wildfires across Alberta.

Mountain View County and the Town of Olds have agreed to extend the negotiating period for our Intermunicipal Cooperation Committee (ICC) agreement to December 31st, 2024. If more time is needed, negotiations may extend into 2025. The ICC agreement is a provincially legislated document, established in 2016, that outlines how these municipalities will share the cost of facilities and services accessed by residents of both the Town and County, including recreation, fire, and libraries.

– On July 25, 2024 Innisfail RCMP received report of a Chevrolet truck being stolen in their area. The owner liaised with RCMP and with the help of on OnStar GPS police were able to track the stolen truck to a rural property on Range Road 25 in Mountain View County. Olds RCMP continue the investigation and have yet to identify a suspect.
