Town of Olds Invites Public Feedback on 2026 Budget Priorities

The Town of Olds has launched the annual Budget Engagement Survey and is inviting residents to share their input on key service areas, funding priorities, and long-term infrastructure planning.

The 2026 Budget Survey is now live and includes questions across several Town service areas, including Protective Services, Infrastructure and Planning, and Community Services. The results will help Council understand what matters most to residents as we clarify community priorities and realign services to reflect current realities and future needs.

“Budget planning focuses on balance,” said Corporate Services Director Sheena Linderman. “We want to make sure we're aligning our resources with what matters most to residents—whether it's public safety, road maintenance, recreation, or community programs.”

Key Topics Covered in the Survey:

Protective Services

Input is being gathered on RCMP priorities, Municipal Enforcement focus areas, and overall community safety. These services shape how resources are allocated to prevent crime and support safe, livable neighbourhoods.

Infrastructure & Planning

This includes roads, utilities, snow clearing, land use, and future development. Decisions in this area affect the reliability of core services, long-term growth, and infrastructure maintenance.

Community Services

This covers recreation, parks, and community development. This section will assist planning for facilities like the Aquatic Centre, Centennial Park, and the Sportsplex, as well as programming for all age groups.

How to Participate:

Residents can complete the survey online by visiting: Engagement & Surveys. The survey takes about 10 minutes and will remain open until July 17, 2025.

Responses will be compiled into a public report and shared with Town Council to inform the 2026 budget deliberations this fall. This is an opportunity to have your say on the decisions that shape the services you use and rely on everyday.
