Temporary Repair Update for Local Rail Crossings
The Town of Olds is sharing an update regarding the recent temporary repairs conducted by Canadian Pacific (CP) as a precursor to more substantial and essential maintenance scheduled in the near future.
CP Rail communicated that there is a delay in completing the remaining repairs, attributed primarily to the procurement, stating that the necessary parts and materials are expected to arrive between May 1 and May 15. To ensure the safety of all road users, bump signs have been installed and are prominently visible for eastbound traffic on Highway 27 before the crossing.
Additionally, to further safeguard motorists and reduce potential impacts, a temporary speed limit reduction to 30 km/h will be implemented in the affected areas by Alberta Transportation.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with Canadian Pacific to expedite these critical infrastructure improvements. Please adhere to the posted signs and reduced speed limits to ensure your safety and the safety of others during this period.
