Employment Opportunity - Seasonal Staff Utilities - 2 Positions

With over 200 kms of underground infrastructure, there is a lot to be dedicated and knowledgeable about. The Town of Olds has a population of approximately 10,000 people and operates a Level 2 Water Distribution System and Level 2 Wastewater Collection System. The treatment of both water and wastewater is the responsibility of regional commissions. The Town of Olds fosters an environment that is welcoming, collaborative and fun. We are accepting applications for two (2) seasonal staff positions from May 4, 2026, to August 28, 2026. Applicants are to provide a three-year Drivers Abstract with their application; these can be obtained at any Alberta Registries location.

Hours of Work:  7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday; Half-hour unpaid lunch; two 15-minute paid breaks.

Wage: $22.70 per hour.

Duties include the following, but are not limited to:
- Infiltration and water loss studies.
- Fire hydrant flushing and maintenance. 
- Flushing of sanitary and storm sewer lines.
- Manhole repairs. 
- Facility inspection rounds.
- Routine water testing.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older, have a grade 12 diploma or equivalent, valid Class 5 Drivers’ License, and a willingness to learn. Previous utility experience may be considered an asset. Preference may be given to an individual with post-secondary education in a water wastewater program, or related fields.
