Employment Opportunity - Seasonal Staff Day Camp Programmer - 2 Positions
The Town of Olds is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our Summer Day Camp team as Day Camp Programmers. These seasonal positions run from June 29, 2026, to August 28, 2026, and play a key role in delivering safe, engaging, and fun day camp experiences for children aged 5–9 years.

Primary Responsibilities
Day Camp Programmers are responsible for implementing and supervising day camp programs while ensuring the safety and well‑being of all campers. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Participating in mandatory training workshops held prior to camp sessions
- Supervising the safety and well‑being of assigned campers throughout the day
- Communicating effectively with fellow staff, supervisors, and parents/guardians
- Building positive relationships with campers and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment
- Planning, organizing, and leading group activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, and nature walks
- Assisting with the setup and cleanup of activities, meals, and special events
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR/AED Level C certification
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Demonstrated interest in working with children aged 5–9
The following are considered assets:
- Previous experience working with children in a structured program setting
- Interest in pursing post-secondary education in Human Services, Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday
- Two rotating shifts:
- 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Each shift includes:
- One 30‑minute unpaid meal break
- Two 15‑minute paid breaks
Wage
$21.25 per hour
