Employment Opportunity - Seasonal Staff Day Camp Program Lead - 1 Position
The Town of Olds is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and responsible individual to join our Recreation team as a Day Camp Program Lead for the 2026 summer season.
This seasonal position runs from May 4, 2026 to August 28, 2026 and is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of safe, engaging, and inclusive day camp programming for children aged 5–9 years. Position Overview
The Day Camp Program Lead is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and supervision of the Town of Olds Summer Day Camp programs. This role plays a key leadership function in developing daily activities and special events, coordinating field trips, supporting marketing and sponsorship initiatives, and ensuring the safety and well being of all campers.
Successful candidates are highly organized, adaptable, and passionate about working with children.
Primary Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, and lead daily camp programming and special activities
• Develop engaging, age appropriate activities and field trips
• Book and coordinate field trips and special events
• Ensure the safety, supervision, and well being of campers throughout the day
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and positive camp environment
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, supervisors, and fellow staff
• Support marketing and promotion of summer camp programs
• Assist with securing sponsorships for summer camp programming
• Participate in all required pre camp training workshops
• Assist with set up and clean up of activities, meals, and events as required
Qualifications
Required
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
• Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR/AED Level C certification
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to work with children aged 5–9 years
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
Assets
• Post secondary education (completed or in progress) in Human Services, Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
• Previous experience working with children in a camp or program setting
• HIGH FIVE® training
Hours of Work
• May 4 – July 3, 2026
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• July 6 – August 28, 2026 (Camp Session Period)
Rotating shifts:
o 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
o 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
All shifts include:
• One 30 minute unpaid meal break
• Two 15 minute paid breaks
Wage
$22.70 per hour
