Mission Statement: The Olds Youth Advisory Council (the "YAC") is an inclusive committee of community minded youth volunteers, who advocate on behalf of all youth in Olds. They will work with existing organizations to encourage and develop new opportunities for our youth to achieve leadership and social skills, as well as mental health wellness.

- Provide information and advice to the community relating to issues affecting youth in the Town of Olds.
- Create and coordinate community events for local youth (Should focus on youth week in the spring)
- Develop relationships with various organizations or individuals addressing issues of concern involving local youth.
- Work with the Town of Olds on various events throughout the year.
Term: 1 year minimum
Time: A minimum of 2 hours per month, but average is 4-5 hours with opportunities to get involved with special projects, committees, and events
Members: YAC consists of 10-12 members per term
Qualifications: Youth between the ages of 14 to 24, living or attending school in Olds
How to Join: Applications to join YAC are accepted year-round, but each term has an annual deadline of September 30th. Once members are appointed in October, they begin their work and new applications are kept on file for the next year.
