Town of Olds Activates EOC - Emergency Operations Centre

Effective 3:30 PM on March 16, 2020, the Town of Olds activated the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This is normal protocol and occurs when there’s a situation that requires enhancing monitoring.
The Town of Olds number-one priority continues to be the safety of citizens, staff and visitors and the Town’s commitment to keep the community healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Every precaution will be taken to protect the health and well-being of the citizens of Olds.
Activating the Emergency Operations Centre is just more of a formal step that supports the Town of Olds in its coordination with neighboring jurisdictions as well as the provincial government to centralize all organizational conversations around planning and monitoring COVID-19. 
At this time the Town of Olds is not considering a local state of emergency. The Town of Olds will not direct community organizations on what to do for their own operations, however encourages everyone to monitor the most up to date information about COVID-19 which is available at the following websites: Government of Canada and Alberta Health. Further information will be updated as received on the Town's Corona Virus Updatge Page as well as Town of Olds Facebook and Twitter channels.
