May 16, 2022

On Sunday, May 15, 2022 at app 22:13hrs the Olds Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire in a mobile home.
Upon arrival, fire crews observed heavy smoke exiting the structure from the roof line and attic space, with no visible flame. Firefighters initiated an offensive attack and quickly extinguished the fire found in the front portion of the mobile home. Despite the lack of fire breakthrough to the exterior of the structure, there was extensive smoke and heat damage to the interior of the home.

14 firefighters spent approximately 3 hours extinguishing the fire and overhauling the scene. AHS EMS along with Fortis and Atco service personnel also responded to provide service to the incident.
There were no injuries reported because of the fire, and the cause is currently under investigation but not deemed to be suspicious.
