Olds RCMP recover stolen vehicle and military equipment

 

Mountain View County, Alta. – On July 25, 2024 Innisfail RCMP received report of a Chevrolet truck being stolen in their area. The owner liaised with RCMP and with the help of on OnStar GPS police were able to track the stolen truck to a rural property on Range Road 25 in Mountain View County. Olds RCMP executed a search warrant at the property in which they located:

 

  1. The stolen 2018 Chevrolet Silverado;
  2. Bolt action rifles (x3);
  3. Air pistols and BB guns (x8);
  4. Air rifle;
  5. Mortar launcher;
  6. White phosphorous grenades (x3);
  7. 7.62 mm round magazines (x12);
  8. Bandolier loaded with 7.62 mm ammunition;
  9. Box filled with miscellaneous military equipment including tarps, helmets that were previously reported stolen out of Lacombe County, Alta.

 

A Canadian Forces EOD team were dispatched to Olds Detachment on July 26, 2024, to assist with the disposal of the white phosphorous grenades.

 

Olds RCMP continue the investigation and have yet to identify a suspect.
