Mountain View County and Town of Olds Intermunicipal Cooperation Committee (ICC) Agreement Negotiation Period Extended
Olds, Alta. - Mountain View County and the Town of Olds have agreed to extend the negotiating period for our Intermunicipal Cooperation Committee (ICC) agreement to December 31st, 2024. If more time is needed, negotiations may extend into 2025.
The ICC agreement is a provincially legislated document, established in 2016, that outlines how these municipalities will share the cost of facilities and services accessed by residents of both the Town and County, including recreation, fire, and libraries.
Extending the negotiation period allows more time for administration to gather and present information to the ICC committee, which is comprised of elected officials from both municipalities. Both organizations are committed to strengthening this long-standing partnership to ensure that the services and facilities that benefit our region and its citizens continue to be supported.
“The partnership we have with Mountain View County ensures that our region thrives. Working together benefits us all! This extension gives us the opportunity to build on our strong foundation and make decisions that benefit both our communities now and into the future.” said Mayor Judy Dahl.
Mountain View County’s Reeve, Angela Aalbers, notes, “Mountain View County is pleased to have extended the renegotiation period for our Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework with the Town of Olds. This extension reflects our commitment to ensuring that our collaborative efforts are both effective and mutually beneficial. By taking this additional time, we will continue to strengthen our joint initiatives for the betterment of our communities. We look forward to continued cooperation and productive discussions with the Town of Olds.”
