Motor Vehicle Collision 70 Avenue, Olds

On Thursday June 3, 2021 at approximately 15:31 hrs the Olds Fire Department was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover South of 57 street on 70 Avenue, Olds.
Upon arrival, crews found a single SUV on its roof with two occupants inside the vehicle with one being partially ejected and trapped.
Firefighters quickly worked to stabilize the vehicle and extricate the trapped occupant utilizing heavy lifting air bags and hydraulic cutting and spreading tools. Extrication occurred quickly and then focus changed to setting up a landing zone for the STARS helicopter that was requested by EMS for patient transport to Calgary.
Olds Fire responded with a rescue truck and engine with a total of 8 firefighters and were on scene for approximately two and a half hours. AHS EMS and RCMP were also present with multiple units and personnel.

The cause of this accident is under investigation by Olds RCMP.
Emergency services wants to remind all citizens to be aware of roadway safety during the summer months, and always pay attention to changing conditions.
