Level 1 Water Restrictions in Effect

May 17, 2021

Effective immediately, the Town of Olds has implemented a Level 1 Water Restriction.
Residents with odd house or unit numbers may water on the odd calendar days of the month, and residents with even house or unit numbers may water on the even calendar days of the month.
This restriction is a result of the re-lining of the north water reservoir, which is an approved 2021 capital project. Construction work began on Thursday, May 13, 2021 and is scheduled to be completed by early August, 2021.
There are four levels of water restrictions:
Level 1

Restrict outside watering (lawn and garden) to even numbered addresses on even numbered calendar days and odd numbered addresses on odd numbered calendar days.
Level 2

Impose ban on all outside watering. Limit the sale of bulk water. Industrial users limit their consumption until further notice.
Level 3

Continue all-out ban on outside watering. Discontinue sale of bulk water. Ban water consumption on industrial and commercial users such as car washes.
Level 4

All water use/services banned, except for essential services (i.e. hospitals/fire fighting).
The odd/even system will remain in effect until further notice.
