Council Meeting Schedule Changes

Until further notice, all Council Meetings as scheduled up to the end of July are to start at 1 pm.

Regular Council meetings and the Policies and Priorities Committee meetings until July will be held in accordance with the Meeting Procedures (COVID-19 Suppression) Regulation, through Electronic Conferencing and be made available for the public to hear live audio of each Council meeting. 

Any Town of Olds meetings for Authorities, Boards, Committees and Commissions established by the Town of Olds may be held in accordance with the Meeting Procedures (COVID-19 Suppression) Regulation, through Electronic Conferencing and be made available for the public to hear live audio of each said meeting as noted on the Town of Olds website or other advertising.


Regular Council Meetings

Unless advertised otherwise, regular Town Council meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 1:00 p.m. and the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, Town Office, 4512 46 Street. All Council meetings are open to the public (except meetings dealing with matters covered under section 197(1)(2) of the Municipal Government Act, eg. Personnel, or if Council determines to meet on a closed issue).

Policies & Priorities Meetings

Policies & Priorities Committee meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 1:00 pm in Council Chambers.

All Council meetings are open to the public (except meetings dealing with matters covered under section 197(1)(2) of the Municipal Government Act, eg. Personnel, or if Council determines to meet on a closed issue).

Council Agendas are provided electronically (scroll down) and projected at Council meetings. 

General Guidelines for Meetings

Council meetings are open to the public. To ensure a respectful and democratic process, the following guidelines are in place for all attendees:

  • Upon entering Council Chambers, please turn off your cell phone!
  • Refrain from talking or creating disruptions during presentations and deliberations.
  • Presenters and members of the audience must respect all citizens, regardless of differing views or opinions.
  • Comments, clapping, or hassling others is not permitted.
  • Applause, or other audible demonstrations of support or opposition are not tolerated.
  • The use of cameras is restricted to recognized media who have clearance with the Communications Coordinator, or to persons designated to take photographs of presenters.
