The Town of Olds is currently involved in a Municipal Sustainability Pilot Project. The Aquatic Center is conveniently located on the Olds College campus. It features five lanes, waterslide, and hot tub. Visit with our Town Crier and Bell Ringer, Denis and Judy Patry, during Olds Fashioned Christmas. Olds is a vibrant and thriving place with exciting business opportunities, including Industrial Parks. Welcome to Olds, National Winner in the 2005 Communities in Bloom competition.

Development & Building Permits
Development Permits $1.20 per $1000 of construction / project costs with a minimum fee of $100
Building Permits Manufactured Home with attached garage $180.00
Building Permits Manufactured Home without attached garage $90.00
Building Permits all other projects $6.00 per $1000 of project costs for projects up to $1,000,000 in value, then $4.20 per $1000 of project value over $1,000,000, with a minimum fee of $90.00
Safety Codes Council fee As levied by Safety Codes Council
Performance Bonds
New residential single-family dwelling $2000.00
Garages and residential additions $1000.00
Garden/Utility sheds no Bond required unless threat of property damage
All other construction projects 10% of construction / project costs
Planning Documents
Land Use Bylaw hard copy $35.00 each
All other Bylaws or Planning documents hard copy 35¢ per 8½" x 11" single-sided page
$2.00 per 11" x 17" single-sided page
Planning documents digital copy municipal cost plus 15% administration fee with min. fee of $20.00
Maps 36" x 36" hard copy $20.00 each
Maps Subdivision Plan hard or digital copy municipal cost plus 15% administration fee with min. fee of $20.00
Property Compliance Letter $100.00
Servicing Agreements & Connections
Encroachment Agreements involving residential Fencing with the municipality $240.00 plus legal costs
All other Encroachment Agreements with the municipality $480.00 plus legal costs
New connection to municipal underground main (water, sanitary or storm) $1200.00 per service connection plus a Performance Bond equal to the service trunk prevailing Fair Market Value of that portion of construction that is on municipal lands
Application Fees
Application to Municipal Planning Commission for project approval in principle $100.00
Subdivision or Development Appeal $240.00
Variance Application $120.00
Home Occupation Application $100.00 (a Business License is also required)
Business License Fees (Per Calendar Year)
