What’s It All About?
Olds Fashioned Christmas Community Directory was created in 1993, and is a series of community, cultural and recreational events held throughout November and December, organized and coordinated by a team of volunteers. Over the years, it has grown by leaps and bounds to include a large number of events, craft shows and children’s activities, and the extensive involvement of hundreds of volunteers, local businesses, schools and service groups. Everyone gets caught up in the spirit and pitches in to help!

The Guiding Principles of Olds Fashioned Christmas are:
  • To facilitate the joyful celebration of Christmas for our community
  • To preserve our history (anything which represents the formative and growing years of our community)
  • To have people remember what our community is all about
  • To promote the Kiwanis Christmas Village as the visible heart of Olds Fashioned Christmas
  • To create opportunities for people to be included and to participate
  • To consider environmental stewardship in all our celebrations
