Earth Day Network's year-round mission is to broaden, diversify and activate the environmental movement worldwide, through a combination of education, public policy, and consumer campaigns.

The Town of Olds hosted celebrations at the Olds Aquatic Centre for our Earth Day 2009 Solar Showcase! Our goal was to create awareness of Earth Day and to educate the public about solar energy, "going green", and to showcase the Town of Olds as a sustainable community. Here's what happened:

The Olds Aquatic Centre was thrilled to unveil its brand-new grid-connected PhotoVoltaic (PV or solar electric) system in April 2009.
